This musical Western was also a celebrated film that starred Doris Day and Howard Keel. 'Calam' dresses like a man, totes a gun and drives the Deadwood City stagecoach. Well-meaning but disaster-prone, she tries to help Henry Miller out of a jam by promising to fetch a famous music-hall star, Adelaide Adams, from Chicago to perform at his 'Golden Garter' saloon in Deadwood City.

Unwittingly, she brings Katie Brown, the stage struck maid to Miss Adams, who poses as the famous actress!

Reviews

"A very good choice for your first production. With a good number of characters and lots of opportunity for the chorus to be involved in the action, it allowed the whole company to show their talents"

"The chorus sang and acted with gusto"

"Steve had put a lot of hard work into the direction of Calamity Jane and it certainly paid off. Good settings of groups, movement and a super finale"

Gloria Smith, NODA Regional Representative for the North Surrey Region

"A splendid achievement to present such a polished performance"
